AMBIVALENT COMPUTER
I once long ago decided to write a parable. I fed the story into a computer with heuristic paradigm models and machine learning algorithms, etc. It reads.
There is a mythical land called “inbetwixtus,” wherein exists a special kind of magic. This magic gives a person the things they expect to see, all the time… well at least some of the time. And, if what they see is complex enough, it becomes difficult for that person to fact check. And because “inbetwixtus” is so very complex, most of the time, many of the people of that magical land know nothing about the magic.
I then asked the computer, “How would it be possible to learn in such a world?”
The computer answered, “It wouldn’t.”
I next asked the computer, “What was the parable?”
The computer answered, “It wouldn’t.”
I thought there was something wrong with the programming, or something. However, as it turns out, I just simply didn’t understand the answer.
