RECIPE: IKEA SWEDISH MEATBALLS

This recipe makes authentic IKEA restaurant style Swedish meatballs identical in taste and texture.

INGREDIENTS

Meatballs:

1 lb lean ground beef

1 lb ground pork

1 Tsp onion powder

1 Tsp dried onion flakes

1/4 Tsp Allspice

1/4 Tsp Nutmeg

1 Tsp soy sauce

1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs

1/2 Tsp white pepper

1 Tsp salt

Fresh ground black pepper

2 eggs

1 medium-small onion, very finely minced (as fine as you can get)

2 Tbsp Bacon fat

3 Tbsp Olive oil

3 Tbsp Canola oil

Sauce:

4 Tbsp Butter

2 Tbsp flour

2 cups beef stock

1/2 cup sour cream

Noodles: (optional)

1 pack broad egg noodles

High quality olive oil

DIRECTIONS

Sauté fresh onion in bacon fat on medium-low heat for 5–10 minutes until softened.

Mix all meatball ingredients together in a bowl, and let stand for 20 minutes. Add more Panko bread crumbs if mixture is too moist and sticky.
