It’s funny, but I had the same thoughts as Baudrillard. The reason is because of irony, because it is the very system that produces its own description that can no longer even be believed. It isn’t just that illusion and reality become indistinguishable, but also truth and fiction. Everyone just thinks they are being entertained, and in a way maybe they are.
