THE DREAM IMMORTAL

The essence of limitation, of faith it flows

An immortal entwined by slumber grows

Alas, the charge eternal, its paths now laid

Cannot extinguish the dream it made

Of God and rulers unending, and uncaring

A man endures the deceit of being

More flexible is he, and as changes take

He dreams this sleepless world awake
