The thing that stands in the way of our understanding of mathematics and physics, is the “physical” world itself… in that we assume it to be something physically real. I know, for instance, that the physical world is simply an experience, and that we actually live in a cognitive realm. This idea is very difficult to grasp for the uninitiated. Our strong bias in favour of the palpable, creates this blind spot. Our other strong bias is in favour of the mechanistic connections between cause-and-effect, because we always demand explanations and answers for things.
