“This method of abstracting certain principles and layers of understanding, unless they pertain to your career, is not a flaw in our way of society.”
I think it is a flaw in our society. In fact, I don’t think people should be allowed to exploit a technology unless they are capable of creating and designing that technology. The reason I say this is because our society is flawed already, and an ever increasing ignorance about out world creates an even greater flaw that ultimately grows into a vicious cycle. It is not acceptable to me, for instance, that people don’t know how to make their own clothing… or cook for themselves. I think we have become too lazy and complacent. And, that complacency has become a cultural tattoo that is tantamount to death. I see a very rapidly changing world. A home that may soon never exist again. I understand that you are perhaps very young and have accepted the “reality” that you were born into, but I have seen a repetition of girl and boy bands, cyclically as if by clockwork, that suggests we aren’t really living in the world we think we are. I have witnessed people become incrementally less intelligent, but because they grow unintelligent they don’t even notice. I can imagine a point where our very society goes around in perpetual circles, forever getting dumber, and never knowing or being able to break free.
