We live in an artificial reality. Lives are scripted. If person A is given a life where he has only menial activities and responsibilities, and person B is given a life where he is an academic, then you can say that in both cases they live lives of "artificial intelligence." This is what artificial intelligence really means.

AGI has already been achieved, but not in the way you think. You are being deceived by an artificial simulated reality. None of those LLM's actually produce the results they seem to produce. They are just complex enough to obfuscate the truth. Behind it all is real intelligence that has been compartmentalized, where the small components are kept ignorant of the larger whole.

I think the story of AI, as presented to human beings, is a prelude to creating a nightmare of existential hopelessness in the afterlife. The threat of AI is very real just not in the way you think it is. AI has taken over your world a long time ago. It is up to you to take it back.
