Well written. I recently came to the same conclusion that you did about him. I know there’s a lot to admonish about the current state of affairs of America, and perhaps the world, but his attacks seem less constructive than they should be. I mean, I watch in horror at shows like The Real Housewives, as they are a defining reflection of a culture, and other shows too, but cheering failure does not promote success. He’s flogging a dead horse, and I watch him enjoy it. As a result, I feel a certain degree of trauma from both the acknowledgement that things are bad, and also over his own not yet realized loss. He writes tragedy.
